Almost all Prosecco sold in the US is spumante, so expect 11% or a little more. The exact figure is printed on every bottle. The sweetness word (Brut, Extra Dry) doesn’t tell you the strength.
How much alcohol is in a glass and a bottle
Worked out for Prosecco at 11% ABV:

A US standard drink contains 14 grams of alcohol, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). Glasses are often poured larger than 5 oz, and top-ups add up.
How Prosecco compares
- Champagne: usually about 12%.
- Many still white and red wines: 12 to 14% or more.
- Aperol Spritz: lower than Prosecco on its own, because Aperol and soda water dilute it.
Driving

Bella Principessa Prosecco DOC and Bella Principessa Prosecco DOC Rosé are both 11% ABV.
